Who we are
DearAuPair is built and run by DIFIA Limited, a VAT-registered company in Ireland. The DearAuPair Team writes and edits the country guides and blog on this site.
We connect au pairs and host families directly. No agency sits in the middle, which keeps it simple and cheap for everyone.
How it works and what it costs
- Au pairs use DearAuPair for free. No fees, no credit card.
- Host families pay one time for 1, 3 or 6 months of messaging, from €9.99. There is no auto-renewal and no agency fee.
- Families verify a credit card before they can message, which keeps fake accounts and spam out.
- We focus on au pair placements within Europe, where EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can move without a visa.
How we write our guides
Au pair rules are set country by country and they change: pocket money, hours, insurance, visas. We write our guides from each country's official sources (labour ministries, immigration services, embassies) and link those sources at the bottom of every guide.
Each guide shows the date it was last checked. If you find something outdated or wrong, please tell us, and we will correct it.
Our guides are general information, not legal advice. Before you sign a contract or apply for a visa, confirm the details with the authority linked in the guide.
Safety
Admins review photos, members can block and report each other, and chat and video calls stay on the platform. Read our safety guide before you agree to a placement.
